CE QUE C'EST
Cognition was founded in 2023 and develops the autonomous coding agent Devin. Given a task, Devin plans its own steps, writes code, runs and debugs it, aiming to complete development tasks end to end.
Pourquoi c'est important
Devin put "an agent completing an entire programming task on its own" forward as a product goal, becoming one of the starting points of 2024’s autonomous-agent discussion.
